New Project
So I think I mentioned that hubby and I are going to build a house. We are in the middle of ironing out some details currently, but to get me excited about the project, hubby sent me to a site to check out some kitchens (yay!).
He has been feverishly working on a house layout plan and I have been so far, relatively un-interested...mainly because he's:
1. Obsessed with this project: sketching, talking about it...etc.
2. Working on all of the not fun stuff like square footage, costs and other things I don't have any interest in/don't understand.
But with this task of picking out kitchen stuff online I've gotten a little more into this whole building a house thing...
Alas, here are some photos of the kitchen that I fell in love with and met all of my requirements, which are:
1. LARGE island with room for stools
2. Large sink
3. Shelves in the island for my cookbooks (you know, in case I ever decide to use them)
4. Pass-through "open" plan that will transition from kitchen to living room
5. white/white-ish cabinets!!!

Just so you know, I'm thinking of having poured concrete counters with a white marble top on the island...I also like the idea of having the island painted a light shabby/chic green color.
Thoughts?

Leaving on a jet plane
So we are leaving FLA today...sad to leave but excited to see hubby and the Lu when I get home! Got lots of sun....had lots of drinks and even more FUN! Girls Trips really are the best, it makes you really appreciate the friendships you have.
This one in particular made me love my new friends that I came with but also really miss my other friends. It also makes me proud of myself for finally making some good girlfriends in NH. I am slowly making it my home and am starting to really entrench myself in life up there and this trip with fab friends was just what the doctor ordered!
Lastly, I will leave you with some funny tid-bits from our trip:
1. Apparently eyelids and lips swell with too much sun/booze...two of us looked like we'd been in a bar fight
2. Sunscreen needs to be re-applied...thought once in the morning was enough...
3. Learned how important drinking water throughout the night is: keeps the hangovers at bay :)

Girls vacay
Since I'm currently on a fab girls week getaway, we decided that these are the top five things to do when on a girls-only weekend:
1. Drink mimosas (and whatever else)
2. Shop
3. Gossip
4. Laugh
5. RELAX and enjoy the scenery
What are your must-dos on vacay?!

ahh Wedges....
Okay, not sure if it's hubby watching the Master's and constantly hearing the word "wedge shot" or if I'm just totally pumped for my Florida trip but I've got wedges on the brain!
Here are some that I'm dying over...
All of these shoes are partially wishful thinking because hubby is only so tall...and I feel bad towering over him...most of the time.
Last night I decided that I didn't care...we went to a comedy show and I decided to go all out. I put my hair in hot rollers, wore my new flared jeans with a simple white top and fun jewelry- I really layered it on, gold bangles, fun earrings...the whole she-bang. Topped off with my new loves: my Christian Louboutin slingbacks (got them on sale worn-once from our high-end consignment shop)! I was feeling really good with those red soles...
Needless to say I was super tall...hubby was a total good sport, especially because he had to stand on his tippy-toes to kiss me :)
Okay, now I have to go for pay-back...Yard-work with hubby. I knew he would get me back somehow...I'm wondering how much longer I can stall....wonder if he'd believe that I have a headache...
Hope you all have a FAB Saturday! XOX

Show Us Your Bling!
So yesterday one of my bff's Jenna asked everyone whether they would or did have a say in choosing their engagement rings....we decided to open this up little more and want you to show us either:
1. A photo of your ring (and the story behind it..did you help pick it out or was it a surprise)
2. A photo of your dream ring!
Here's my ring...I gave hubby some hints as to what I liked. He actually found a picture of a ring that I loved and had a ring made to look similar!

Tail Wagging Tuesday
I'm Linking up with CMae for Tail Wagging Tuesday!
Here's my little Lucy Bug. I got her before I met hubby and she is one of the loves of my life. She is the world's best cuddler...and if you've ever had a cavalier, you know the following:
1. They truly believe they are human
2. They also believe that you absolutely hung the moon. They are your number 1 fan and absolutely ADORE you, which can just about make your day every day.
Here she is with her "wedding wreath" that she wore down the aisle for the wedding:
Happy Tuesday!

Yay Makeup!
Okay, so I just want to apologize for my very dramatic previous post. I had a rough day at work (not made any easier by the fact that I'm PMS-ing)...sorry for the drama, I'm back to my regular (albeit sometimes snarky) self.
On to one of my favorite things...MAKEUP!!!!
I decided that I'd let you all in on some of my very favorite (and sometimes very necessary) makeup must-haves!
First things first...I prefer not to leave the house without concealer and blush. It's just not a great look without. My favorite concealer of all time is Laura Mercier, and my fav blush is without question NARS in Orgasm. Loves it.
Next up is an all-over bronzer. Love this one from Benefit: Dallas...it's bronzer with a little kick to it...it's a great go-to in the dead of winter up here in NH (aka no man's land or the land of no sun)
Last up (I say last up because this is mostly for special occasions...or if for some reason I have more than 2 minutes to get ready in the morning) is eyeshadow and liner. I prefer putting my eyeliner on with a flat brush...I find that it stays on longer and doesn't creep into my contacts quite as much. I typically just line the top lash line (unless I'm feeling really sassy). I also picked up a great tip from somewhere (can't remember where) that dipping your eyeliner brush in contact solution rather than water makes it last longer...it totally does...try it out and let me know how it goes!
I also really like the above eyeshadow combo from Stila because each shadow works great individually or equally well when layered/combined (again, usually only for special occasions!)!
Happy Monday Girlie Girls! XOX
ps. I'm in the market for a new mascara, hence the lack of one on here...I need suggestions! Help a sister out!

A Note about previous Gap Shoes
Okay, so a few days ago I posted a pic of some Gap flats that I thought were totally cute...turns out they are not quite as they seem.
I went to the Gap yesterday and tried them on...I was disappointed to find out that you can see your toes against the leather. Meaning that when you have them on you can clearly see the outline of your toes in them...not cool! I am totally going to spring for the Tory B ones...
I did however find a totally cute sweater on sale in a fun spring-y color! I may even wear it today to our final Mud Ball meeting!

Totally loving the combo of a hoodie and a sequin skirt...may have to put that together for myself this weekend

Who are you cheering for?
I have to say that I will be cheering for Kentucky...gotta keep it in the SEC right!!!! I'm also cheering for Butler...their coach share's an alma mater with none other than: Kirtie, Nonny and Poppy!!!!
Go DePauw!
Just took the Lu for a little walky before we finish straightening up around the casa for the big Real Estate Showing later today...keep your fingers crossed!!!
