Must-Have

I've been running around like a crazy person but wanted to show you a summer must-have...(I'm doing this at work...shhh don't tell)

I worked at a golf tourney this past weekend and wore this all day...it was super hot but this dress kept me cool and didn't show any sweat marks (bonus!). I wore it with a super basic gap tank bra in white with flat sandals and minimal jewelry. It's my new go-to.

Also, this week Kirtie (aka mom) and I have a fun shopping date in Boston on Wed/Thurs! I am so excited because the weather is supposed to be beautiful so I actually get to wear cute summer clothes...no more of this all black, all workout-wear (at least for one day). I decided to put together a little outfit on Polyvore for your viewing pleasure :)

Kitchen ideas

So it's almost time for the fun stuff...picking colors, counters, hardware!

Ever since we started re-doing this house I've been super excited about the kitchen...I want open shelving, a big island and  light grey-green cabinets. Does anyone have any color suggestions? Here are some of my inspiration photos:

Materials:
-Plywood cut to size of twin bed with an extra 1/4" on either side
-Batting (enough for at least three layers per headboard)
-Fabric of your choice (4 yards total worked for us)...we actually got "outdoor canvas" material because it was a little thicker and more durable.
-Industrial staple gun

You also need a good dose of patience because making sure everything is lined up evenly is painstaking, although having a semi-geometric pattern did make that easier.

Total time taken: 2.5 hours
Drinks consumed: me (2 1/2 glasses of wine) hubby (1 beer)...obviously we know who worked more and who "observed" with a drink in their hand :)
