overheard

Lesson to me...never sit in a coffee shop surrounded by ivy league students on a Sunday afternoon.  Here are just a few things that I overheard

1. "I don't even know why they offer pre-med at public or state schools...they just don't have the same level of requirements that we do here."
2. "People from Johns Hopkins have no personality and I've heard that hospitals aren't hiring people from there because of that"
3. "Would I be better off going to a state school and getting straight-A's than I am here at Dartmouth getting A's and B's..."
4. "I feel like we can't even compare to public schools because we are just getting such a higher level of education than those people."

I feel like all I can really say is, "GO GATORS"

did that really happen?  All the friends/family that I have that goes/has gone to Dartmouth is cool...wtf?  do people really feel like this or did I sit near the wrong chicks?

House update!

I am so excited...the house is finally starting to reflect how much work we (and by we, I mean mostly hubby) have been putting into it!  This week/weekend all the trim and painting was completed!  The biggest excitement...my office!

I had a vision for the room but not an exact color picked out.  We were in a semi time crunch so I literally went into the paint store and made my pick that was the closest to what I had in mind (enter nerves...)

Here's the finished product!

 

I am LOVING it!  Hubby and his friend were slightly alarmed at the brightness but they calmed down when all was said and done :)

Now a little preview of what I'm thinking for this room (my office)...pops of pink and black, mercury glass accents and a chevron black/white print rug...can't wait to show you the finished product!

Coming back from a trip is always hard...there's so much catching up to do!  I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off this week (sorry chickens).  I'm seem to be so frantic that I only put one earring in today...wtf.

DC Girls Trip!

So excited for my DC Girls Trip!  It's been way too long since we got together!
I promised them that I'd post a polyvore set of what I packed...but seeing as they are already packed and on their way...this is too late!
I figured I'd post it anyway because it reflects a new trend in my style...more simple, classic and laid back.  Ever since I did a major closet clean out I've gone back to basics...mainly jeans, t-shirts (and button downs) with fun statement jewelry (think fun chandelier earrings and stacked bracelets) to go along with my newly discovered "beachy waves".
  I'm hoping that we take some great pictures this weekend so you can have a better idea of what I'm talking about...as well as see how much we missed each other!
