So I've been taking Pilates on the Reformer for approx 6 months and am loving it. It is the type of workout that makes you work hard but love every minute of it. It combines stretching with lengthening your muscles- something you can actually feel.
At first I was totally intimidated by the class because I was a beginner and had no idea what I was doing (to be honest, the reformer looked like some sort of torture device), but after taking a lot of classes and getting a lot of help from the instructor...I am loving every class I take and finally seeing some results that I've never seen or felt with just cardio and weightlifting.
Here are some pics of what it looks like:
On Monday, we did a series of side work and I am definitely feeling it today...I sneezed and felt every single portion of my obliques contract (painful but also good at the same time). I am also noticing that my pants seem a little looser around the waist...perhaps I'm losing inches!
Anywhoo, the point of this post was to give you guys a little insight into this type of workout in case any of you are interested in it...it's totally worth it and is the only workout I've ever done that feels just as good doing it as it does when you're done (trust me, I teach Spinning and know what it's like to hate your workout but love the way you feel after).
Happy Tuesday Peeps! XOX

Thanks for sharing! I have been wanting to try it but was intimated as well, maybe I will have to bit the bullet now and just go for it!
ReplyDeleteI tried it for the first time about a month ago and am ADDICTED!! I am soooo sore for days after the workout...I love. Unfortunately, the studio I go to is muy expensivo, so I try to go about once a week.
