Organizing...the mail

So hubby and I have had a few issues with the mail lately.  As in, we get too much of it...and it's almost all crap!  After several attempts at making him in charge of it, I decided to take the bull by the horns and take over mail call myself (with a little help from Real Simple)

Helpful Tips found here:

Set Up a Mail Workspace
  • Designate something as an in-box. It can be a basket, a storage box, a drawer―anything big enough to hold a week's worth of mail and no more. Locate it in a place that's convenient and not so out of the way that it's out of sight and mind.
  •
  • Post a large trash can or recycling bin near the in-box to hold all the junk mail that you'll be purging. "Treat your wastebaskets like babies: Keep them in close reach at all times and feed and change them often," suggests Harriet Schechter, owner of Miracle Worker Organizing Service and the author of Let Go of Clutter. Helpful hint: Pitch junk mail the second you reach your in-box each day. Your ruthlessness will be rewarded with a significantly smaller pile of mail to contend with when you sit down to sift through it.
  •
  • Consider buying a paper shredder. It will let you dispose of documents containing personal information and account numbers without having to worry about identity theft.
  •
  • Decide on a regular time to sort through your in-box and distribute its contents to the organizational systems you create. Allot a few minutes each day or an hour once a week, whatever works for you: What's important is that you make it a habit.

Saturday Pretties

Love the pink in both rooms (can you tell the island base is pink also)...the mirrored bed is TDF. I wonder if hubby would let me do our room like that? (all images via DecorPad)

The perfect classic

There's something to be said about a ballerina bun.  It can easily class up any outfit...whether ballgown or sweaty gym clothes, and as my hair is getting longer, the easier it is to throw up the perfect messy bun.

All it took was a quick google to prove my point:

I even chose this perfect hairstyle for my wedding:
It just works perfectly for every occasion, and you know what, The messier the better...how many things can you say that about!

Happy Monday Everyone

For Some Reason

I've been thinking about sunglasses today...don't ask my why, it's not like it's 80 degrees and sunny every day here BUT today it was beautiful and got me to thinking about a great classic pair of shades.

Here are a few that were looking really good to me today:

Also, thanks to Pink LouLou I discovered the magic of EBAY!!!!!! The land where prices can be reasonable...

Say it ain't so!

According to my fav. blog: Day Old News...Courtney Cox and David Arquette are separating.

So sad...I really thought that they were one of the few Hollywood couples who made it work

Currently lusting after...

So after posting those pics yesterday I started looking at my living room in a different light...and decided that it needs a little "somethin' somethin'". It's looking too bland/country for me, I want to spice it up!  So, I spent the majority of my afternoon and evening perusing the new Lonny online edition (Yum!) and looking on Ebay and Etsy for some fabric inspiration.

Check out these pics. They came from my new favorite Web site DecorPad.  While looking around at photos incorporating ikat fabric I stumbled across this site and found myself perusing images for way too long...

Loving the dual ottomans...I'm thinking about finding some to put at the foot of our bed.

Here's a picture of a swatch that is similar to the fabric I got on ebay today for $20!!
I can't wait to turn it into this:
Or maybe frame two squares of it to hang above the couch.

Thoughts?? Suggestions??

Exercise...are you getting enough?

I was just reading USA Today and came across a fact that made me a little bit sick to my stomach:

"Only about 5% of American adults do some type of vigorous physical activity on any given day," according to the American Journal of Preventative Medicine.

"On any given day, most U.S. adults reported performing predominantly sedentary and light activities.  The greatest prevalence for reported moderate activities was food and drink preparation for both men (12.8%) and women (37.6%)."

Can you believe that!!!

I realize that I have a little different perspective because I work in a gym, but c'mon people, this is why 60 million adults (30% of the adult population) is obese.

Now I know you are all wondering, "why is Lindsay talking about this serious topic today...she's such a downer"...but I literally couldn't believe my eyes when I read that article.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't love to exercise...in fact, there are some days when I really hate it, but I do it for a few reasons:
1. I love cute workout outfits (lululemon is a fav)
2. Endorphins are the best drug in the world
3. I don't like having extra junk in my trunk
4. I want to live a longer and healthier life
5. Two words: Stress Relief

So tell me, what do you do to get your heart and blood pumping?

Okay, enough on this serious topic, back to all the fun stuff tomorrow!

XOXO
