I'm just putting this out there...

So I'm writing a book.  I've been thinking about doing it for a while and have finally started to piece it together...I figured that I'd run a snippet by you all to see and hear your thoughts.

Check it out (and if you're wondering or haven't read it in the blog before, my dad is a college football coach.  I've grown up with football in my blood and typically on the forefront of our lives...I'm writing about all the experiences I've had...all of it: the good, the bad and the very ugly)

"I grew up a football fan, I had to, it’s what I know.  Ask my husband, he finally realized that there’s no reasoning with me when it comes to college football.  It’s a sick thing: who knew that something that is supposed to be so fun and exciting can be so painful and devastating.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m my dad’s (and whatever team he’s coaching) biggest fan.  I cheer, I make signs I do it all, I just wish that it all ended there.
At my house, football is a continuous thing.  There is no “off” season.  Growing up with a coach as a dad, you learned quickly that if you had a play on a Thursday night in January your dad would not be there.  More likely, he’d be doing a home visit, where he might be going to someone else’s play on that Thursday night.
I can remember once in first grade, my teacher called my mom into school for a meeting.  The conversation went a little like this:
(Teacher) Kirsten, is everything all right at home?
(Mom) Yes definitely, why?
(Teacher) Well I just want to make sure that everything is okay with your marriage
(Mom) Um, okay and why would that be?
(Teacher) Well, it’s just that the other day in class we were talking about houses and rooms and beds and Lindsay told us that her mom sleeps at home and her dad lives in hotels.
(Mom) What!  Oh my god!  She probably said that because Buddy is off recruiting a lot this time of year and isn’t home!  How embarrassing, I’m so sorry!
Nice right?  This definitely took place in either December or January…months I am now familiar with as being months where I have a lot of quality time with my mom."

Back to normal posts tomorrow...hope you all had a happy Hump day!
